Have No Fear

When people learn that I’m a psychologist, they usually respond in one of three ways.

1) They ask “Are you reading my mind?” or “Have you diagnosed me?”

2) They launch into a long, rambling narrative that begins “I had this dream…” and ends with “What does that mean?!”

or

3) They stare blankly and change the subject.

It seems psychology makes people anxious. I get that. No one wants an uninvited guest pawing through their inner, personal life.

Let me be clear:  I haven’t (and won’t) diagnose you. I don’t do dream interpretation. I’m not reading your mind. You have nothing to fear.
